Dr. Walter B. Havekorst

Dentistry for me has been exciting and rewarding in being able to provide the several unusual techniques that I have been privileged to have been taught by some of the top dentist in the country these several techniques have enabled me to resolve the most difficult of challenges presented to me by patients who have been led to believe that there is no hope of resolution to their problems.

Full Mouth Reconstruction which has played an important part in my practice. Skills have been disciplined into me by three of the best dentist around. My skills in dentures were developed in the research group of Dr Earl Pound who was one of the geniuses of denture techniques which bears his name. The Gnathologic skills were developed by Peter K. Thomas in the Laguna Beach Study Club and Niles Guicehet and his Gnahologic Study Club of Orange County both of renowned accomplishments in the fields of prosthetics and Occlusion.

I have been placing implants since 1967 and have the privilege of seeing first hand the growth and development of this discipline. I participated in a residency in 2000 for implants and bone grafting. Implants are without a doubt the most exciting advance in dentistry that has been provided for the public in decades.

I have been involved in cosmetics in dentistry since my inception in dentistry. There are those who might not realize that this emphasis has been around since 1920. The biggest advance in this area is the materials which are now available to provide more options to the patient. I continue to search for better methods and techniques in this arena so as to provide the best restorative option for the patient. Before any "new" and trendy treatment is initiated into my practice we research the treatment with diligence.

It is important to be able to coordinate the skills of the dentist with those of the lab artist who is providing the finished product. I produced my own lab work for my patients for 30 years or so thus I know that end of the field thoroughly and am able to demand greater performance from my support staff.

I have been treating TMJ problems for upward of 25 years assimilating my background from the post graduate studies from a variety of clinicians who have dedicated themselves to this very demanding area of dentistry. I also had the benefit of a comprehensive seminar on TMD through Bethesda Hospital involving several clinicians devoted to this problem.

I believe that excellent dentistry should last for many years and not have to be continually replaced. I have many patients that have retained their work for 30 or 40 years. Today with the addition of implants there few reasons for patients to be edentulous.

I have 40 years in providing dentistry on an international level and at a high level of excellence. Excellence in never an accident but rather by dedication and commitment.

"Trifles make perfection and perfection is no trifle"

Walter B Havekorst D.D.S.

It is always a challenge to bring total and comprehensive information to patients. Many of the treatment and care that we give our patients may seem new to the ear but they are not new and in many cases prove to be the backbone of resolving the patients needs and desires and are ever present in those practicing with knowledge and providing quality expertise in their treatment.

Knowledge, commitment and excellence in a comfortable and professional style is my mantra for my dental practice
